Our Professionals

Prior to founding Veritas Med-Law, Pam enjoyed a successful career that includes a variety of professional and leadership roles within the healthcare, legal, and financial industries.  This diverse background uniquely equips her to lead Veritas, a medical legal consulting firm that provides customized services to meet the needs of their clients.

Pam has extensive experience in the medical field. She has worked as a bedside RN in the NICU, Newborn Nursery, and Pediatric units. Her years on these units have given her special expertise in reviewing malpractice cases involving birth injuries, pediatric wrongful deaths, or NICU care cases.  Pam has a love of educating others and took a position as a clinical education specialist for a large hospital system in SW Missouri where she led NRP, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification courses as well as providing all onboarding education for clinical staff. Later, she led a Practical Nursing program at a vocational school where she managed a staff of LPN program instructors, oversaw curriculum, and managed relationships with multiple regional hospitals and regulatory agencies.  In addition to her leadership role, she also taught Pediatric Nursing, Pharmacology, Nurse Documentation, and Professional Concepts courses to LPN students in a classroom setting. These education based positions have provided Pam with an excellent ability to review education practices of nursing units to determine adequacy whether in the role of a legal nurse consultant or for purposes of auditing hospital units for deficiencies and creating a plan of correction.

After several year of bedside clinical experience and nurse educator experience, Pam moved into a leadership role as the Director of General Surgery and Ortho/Neuro at the same large hospital where she began her career as a NICU nurse. In this administration position Pam managed 2 busy post-surgical units with  total of 56 beds. She was responsible for the all personnel decisions, patient safety, unit staffing, adherence to standards, and writing of unit policies in this role. This experience provided her with excellent insights into how a clinical unit should run, what obstacles to patient safety exist and how to correct them, and how to educate clinical staff on effective documentation to protect themselves and their facility from litigation vulnerability.

In addition to her healthcare experience, Pam also has a financial background.  She has worked as a Certified Public Accountant where she performed financial audits for CPA firms. This experience has given her exceptional attention to detail and an eye for finding that critical piece in the medical records that could be the key to your successful malpractice case or to ensure that your facility is protected from litigation.  Pam also has a background in the field of life care planning.  She has experience writing Medicare Set Aside agreements for workman's compensation cases and is a Certified Life Care Planner with special expertise in the area of birth injury and Cerebral Palsy.

As a legal nurse consultant, Pam has extensive experience reviewing medical records to determine merit for malpractice cases, identifying standard of care breaches, and finding links to establish causation for litigation. She provides full case support from the initial merit review of a potential case through assistance with deposition preparation, literature research, expert vetting and in person trial attendance and support. Pam has proven success in this role having played a crucial role in malpractice trials that resulted in record setting jury awards in the county of jurisdiction. Additionally, Pam works with trial attorneys to create customized medical demonstrative exhibits to explain the medical facts of a case to the jury in language they understand and with beautiful graphics and illustrations to ensure that the critical case information is clearly conveyed.

As the owner of Veritas Med-Law, Pam will use her past experiences and the expertise gained at each to provide you with valuable insight and customized solutions to meet your medical legal needs.  Please contact Pam to discuss how Veritas can assist you with your medical malpractice cases or help protect your healthcare facility from expensive litigation.
